Founded SITTCO in 1997. Active In the shipping industry since 1977.
Born in Aqaba, Jordan in 1955. Followed an education "Certificate in Shipping" from London in 1973, and achieved a Diploma with credits in Marine & Maritime Law, London School of Foreign Trade in 1977
Started his career with the initiation of a shipping agency in 1977 in Amman and Aqaba, and followed with an expansion of the business to several agencies and shipping offices around the Middle East region, in countries like in Saudi Arabia, U.A.E., Iraq, Egypt, Sudan, Syria and Lebanon.
Extended his business by establishing the first independent Jordanian passenger Line in Jordan in 1983, to Ferry “bridge” between Jordan/Egypt 1987; container feedering services 1988; Franchisee – McDonalds Jordan 1996, Holding Shipping Transport and Trading Company (SITTCO) in 1997; and Privatization of JNSL by 60% taken over by SITTCO Group in 2002. and holder of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration, USA.
Chairmanof the Board – H.E Dr. Mohammad Abu Hammour
Dr. Mohammad received his PHD Degree in Economics and Finance from Surrey University UK in 1997, and received his Masters Degree in Economics from Jordan University in 1989 with a Bachelor Degree in Economics from Yarmouk University in 1984
Dr. Mohammad became Minister of Industry & Trade in 2003, Minister of Finance 2003 - 2005 and again between 2009 - 2011.
Dr. Mohammad has also worked as Adviser to the Minister of Finance 1998 - 1999 and Secretary General to the Ministry of Finance 2000 - 2003.
ActingGeneral Manager – Mr. Mahmoud Alrefai
Mr. Mahmoud had his graduate studies in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering in 1998. Mr. Mahmoud is the Acting General Manager at SITTCO since 2015 till today, he also holds the following posts; General Manager of Aqaba Bulk Chemicals Company (ABCCO), General Manager and Member of the Board of Directors for United Miscellaneous Liquid Terminal Company (UMLTCO). In 2008 - 2009 Mr. Mahmoud was the General Manager for United Group Logistics . Between 1998 - 2008, Mr. Mahmoud worked for Caterpillar, Inc. USA as Six-Sigma Black Belt and Senior Design Engineer .
Mr. Mahmoud also served as a Captain at Jordan Armed Forces - Royal Maintenance Corps 1985 - 1992.
